BAKING OUR CAKE POPS
Baking + Prep
- We LOVE our Kitchen Aid Pistachio colored Mixer. -->KITCHEN AID MIXER
- One of our favorite tools when mixing cake batter and also kneading our cake pop dough is a beater attachment with a flexible silicone edge--> FLEX EDGE BEATER
- I know this is a controversial topic but we do use a glass baking dish to bake our cakes! I prefer not to use metal pans with a non-stick surface. Here is the glass baking dish we use for our cake pops! --> 9X13 GLASS BAKING DISH
- We use ceramic coated baking sheets lined with parchment paper as a tool for laying our dipped cake pops, decorating, and cooling before packaging them up to sell. --> CERAMIC COATED BAKING SHEETS
- To keep our area clean and consistent when we are cutting and rolling out our cake pop dough, before we lay out our parchment paper that we work on, we lay down an extra large --> BAKING MAT
- We use gloves when we have to touch the cake for any reason. When we are crumbling our cake and kneading out our cake pop dough, we like to use these disposable latex-free gloves because they are a snug fit and flexible so we can really work the dough. --> DISPOSABLE FOOD SAFE GLOVES
Cake Pop Making
- This variety pack came with our favorite standard round cake pop cutter that we prefer! We love that these are not 3-D printed because they have a smooth finish. It is also super nice to have the dual trays that sit side by side to hold more cake pops while we dip our sticks and insert them into the cake pops before cooling to decorate.--> CAKE POP CUTTERS WITH TRAY
- We prefer to use the 4" sticks for our cake pops.--> 4" CAKE POP STICKS
OUR CAKE POP CART SETUP
Everything that turned a cart into our little Cake Pops on Lassik shop.
The cart itself was only the beginning. These are the things we've added to keep our pops cold, organized, easy to shop and ready for customers.
The Cart
- Sadly they don't have the same color we were fortunate enough to get, but really...you can't do a Cake Pop Cart without a --> CAKE POP CART
- If you want to take cash at your cart you also need a --> PAY HERE CASH BOX
- We are in an area where shade is essential for our little Cake Pop Cart. If you leave your cart in direct sun the ice inside will not last long. To keep our cart shaded we matched our cart theme and added the cutest lime green --> UMBRELLA WITH FRINGE
-
We are thankful that our setup is near grass, so we are able to forgo a bulky umbrella stand and are able to use an --> UMBRELLA GROUND ANCHOR
Inside the Cart
- I never thought I would love ice packs but here I am, letting you know that for the bottom of our cake pop cart I LOVE these --> FLEX FREEZE ICE PACKS
- We like to be trendy, clean and stay on theme, so we decorate and line our Flex Freeze Ice Packs with these 28" x18" --> TEA TOWELS
- We place our cake pops inside the cart in these ---> CLEAR STORAGE BINS
- Underneath the cart we decorate by putting paper bags and Cake Pops on Lassik stickers inside of an adorable little--> METAL BASKET
SIGNS, LABELS + DIY SUPPLIES
Because apparently owning a cake pop business also means owning a tiny print shop. 😂
We make a LOT of our own signs, labels, stickers and cart details. These are the tools and supplies we use to do it ourselves.
Branding
- We consider ourselves to be pretty creative and crafty! Part of starting a business, and one of the things we love most about it, is that you have to decorate and create your own style. We created a lovely unique theme for our cake pop cart. None of the creativity in branding would ever be possible without our tried and true vinyl cutting machine --> SILHOUETTE CAMEO 3
- One of the very first things we did after assembling our cake pop cart, was we put our logo front and center with --> PERMANENT GLITTER VINYL
Advertising
- We get creative around here and one of the most important things about getting the word out in your neighborhood about your new business, is advertising. It important to advertise! We do neighborhood signs and make it fun for our locals! We make long lasting signs using a --> SCOTCH THERMAL LAMINATOR
- Make sure you stock up on --> LAMINATOR SHEETS
- When we make our signs, we like to use a hole puncher and string to tie the signs up! It makes it very easy to put up and take down signs without having to use and waste tape! --> HOLE PUNCH
What We Make With It
We use these supplies for our laminated flavor labels, cart signage, payment information, stickers, logo vinyl and all the little details that make the cart feel like ours.
PACKAGING THE CAKE POPS
The not-so-glamorous stuff that keeps everything running.
These are the everyday supplies we find ourselves reaching for again and again while prepping, packaging, stocking and running our cart.
- We really like these self sealing cookie bags --> 4x6 or 3x5
- Our products wouldn't be the same without a thermal printer. This printer has been an essential tool for us. Printing logo and ingredient labels for individual cake pop packaging is a must, and this makes it an easy task--> THERMAL LABEL PRINTER
- We love having nice big logo stickers on the front of our individual packaging and prefer to use these --> 3" ROUND THERMAL STICKERS
- Our ingredients go onto these --> 3" SQUARE THERMAL STICKERS
