Thoughtfully Chosen Ingredients 💚
We know cake pops are a treat — and they're supposed to be fun and delicious! But we're still pretty picky about what goes into ours. We keep our recipes simple, choose ingredients thoughtfully, and keep our ingredient lists as straightforward as we can while still making flavors that pop.
For packaged ingredients where gluten is a consideration, we intentionally choose products that are labeled or certified gluten-free by the manufacturer. This includes our cake mixes, chocolate coatings, chocolate chips, sprinkles, cereals, cookie crumbs, and other specialty ingredients.
Our everyday baking ingredients — like butter, eggs, milk, and flavor extracts — are also carefully checked before being used.
Our goal is simple: thoughtfully sourced, simply delicious cake pops.
Our Home Kitchen
Cake Pops on Lassik is a permitted Class A Cottage Food business right here in Yolo County, which means our treats are handmade in our home kitchen.
While we intentionally select packaged ingredients that are labeled gluten-free and avoid gluten-containing ingredients when making our cake pops, our home kitchen is not a dedicated or certified gluten-free facility.
We take thoughtful steps to help reduce the possibility of cross-contact during preparation:
- Our workspace: Countertops are thoroughly cleaned before we begin and covered with a dedicated protective mat and fresh parchment paper.
- Our equipment: Baking pans, mixers and utensils used to prepare our cake pops are reserved specifically for our cake-pop business and are not used for everyday household cooking.
- Our oven: Our cake pops are baked in our home oven, which is shared with our household and is not a dedicated gluten-free oven.
Because gluten-containing foods are present and prepared in our home, cross-contact cannot be completely ruled out.
We believe in being transparent about both the ingredients we choose and the environment in which our treats are made, so you have the information you need to decide what you are comfortable enjoying.
